NEET 2017 Counseling
The counseling for MBBS and BDS through NEET 2017 will be conducted by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of the Director General Health Services (DGHS) from June 2017. The counseling will be done online for the candidates who qualified in the entrance examination. The counseling for NEET 2017 for All India quota will be conducted for allotment of around 13000 MBBS and BDS seats. As per the latest order was given by the Honorable Supreme Court, deemed university seats be filled by DGHS along with 15% All India Quota seats.
NEET State Counseling 2017 for 15% All India Quota Seats:
The counseling for admission under 85% state quota seats except for AP, TS and J&K will be conducted by medical education department or the state appointed authority. Counseling for the private, central and deemed universities will be done along with the government colleges. State will conduct a common centralized counseling for admissions to all colleges located in that particular state. CBSE will conduct a state merit list for each state and Union Territory (UT) and forward it to respective states. CBSE will conduct a State wise merit list for each state and union territory and forward it to respective states. The exam conducting authority, CBSE also prepare a merit list of participating colleges for counseling process. Allotment of MBBS and BDS seats for AIIMS and AFMC will also be done on the basis of NEET 2017 scores.
Information on procedure of NEET Counseling 2017:
NEET 2017 will be conducted online in two rounds. The candidates will have to register with MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) for counseling. You will be provided with a roll number and password. All the candidates who qualify for 15% all India quota seats can follow the procedure below:

- Round 1- Result announcement
- Reporting at College after first round of counseling
- Round 2-Seat allotment
- Round 2- Result
- Reporting at College after Round 2
The eligible candidate’s list as declared by CBSE must register online under ‘new registration’ tab. The candidates will have to provide their roll number, all India rank and percentile score. Once the registration is successful, the candidates will be provided with username and password.
Exercising choices and Locking:
Here is where the candidates get an option to choose medical and dental college. Before freezing (locking) upon the final one, they can opt for as many choices as they want. After locking the option, the choice cannot be modified.
Round 1 – Seat Allotment Process:
In this process, the seat allotted to candidates according to their choice of medical and dental college selected will be distributed.
Round 1- Result announcement:
The result for Round 1 NEET 2017 counseling will be published online after the seat allotment process. It displays the state, institute branch, category and total seats.
Reporting at College after the first round of counseling:
Once the counseling result is out, the students are supposed to report to the medical and dental college within the specific time to finish the admission formalities.
Round 2 procedure will also be the same.
